Start with the publication and issue
Gravure turns up in manga magazines, entertainment weeklies and specialist idol publications. Weekly Playboy, Young Jump and Young Magazine are separate titles, so a name alone isn’t enough to find the issue you want.
Use the magazine directory to find the publication, then match the issue number and cover. If you’re searching elsewhere, try the idol’s Japanese name with the magazine title.
On the cover—or inside?
A front cover, back cover and interior photo feature are different appearances. An announcement that lists several people doesn’t mean they all share the cover. Look at the cover image and the publisher’s contents page to see who appears where.
An issue may also include a separate booklet, poster or other supplement. That isn’t the same as a bonus offered by one shop. If that extra is why you’re buying, check the seller’s description.
The date on the cover can be misleading
A magazine’s cover date or issue month isn’t always its on-sale date. When ordering, match the issue number as well as the date so you don’t end up with the next issue or a similarly named special.
Older copies may be sold without their original supplements. Digital editions can also differ from print, so check the contents if you’re looking for a particular photo feature.
For more from the same person, follow her profile to related stories and publications. The editions guide explains the bonus and format terms you’ll see in listings.
