Shigeo Nagashima (長嶋茂雄, 1936–2025) was a Yomiuri Giants third baseman and manager who became one of Japanese professional baseball’s defining public figures. He debuted in 1958 after playing for Rikkyo University, recorded more than 2,000 career hits, and later managed the Giants across two tenures. The Giants’ official FOR3VER project preserves his playing, managerial, and cultural legacy through an extensive two-volume book.
