The cover and opening feature of BOMB’s May issue celebrate Satsuki Sugawara of Nogizaka46, whose 41st single, When Was the Last Time You Ran Up the Stairs?, has been released and who will hold the 14th YEAR BIRTHDAY LIVE at Tokyo Dome. The gravure shoot took place in her home prefecture of Chiba in rainy weather rather than the springlike weather hoped for. She first lounges on tatami in T-shirt loungewear, covering herself with a sheet and emerging from a closet in scenes full of cuteness. Next, in a light-blue sheer shirt and denim shorts, she waits to meet someone at a rain-soaked shrine. Changing into a pristine white dress, she creates a dreamlike scene amid the spectacular contrast of a field of rape blossoms in full bloom and Kawazu cherry trees. Her appearance holding an umbrella is also alluring. Finally, in a mature sleeveless fitted knit, readers are invited to take in the ongoing present of her at 20.

The issue also includes a long interview in which Sugawara discusses approximately a year as vice captain, her feelings for captain Minami Umezawa as she graduates at the Tokyo Dome concert, her own future, and Nogizaka46’s 15th year. Readers should also not miss moving and speaking Satsuki Sugawara in a gravure-shoot video accessible via the QR code in the magazine.

Runa Hayashi on the back cover

Runa Hayashi of Nogizaka46 makes her first BOMB solo gravure appearance in some time. In simple casual styling of a white shirt and denim, she looks into the camera with a mature expression. In a one-piece dress, she walks outside, buys bread and eats it in a natural, unguarded way. The closeness is enough to make anyone fall in love. The back cover is also a highlight.

Now 20 and looking a little more mature, her full bikini is even more appealing. Yet when she eats ice cream, her usual smile remains.
