A New Type of Live-Action Romance Simulation, Pampered by Three Sisters From a Hamster’s Perspective

In this live-action romance simulation game, the protagonist is reincarnated as a hamster, kept by three beautiful sisters who were childhood friends, and lavishly pampered in an immersive live-action setting.

The three sisters and heroines are played by gravure idols Sayaka Tomaru, Momoha Takatsuru, and Shiori Ikemoto. From inside a cage or from the palms of their hands, players will experience an exciting shared life with the sisters from a hamster’s perspective.

Overcoming a Setback, the Game Is Finally Set for Release

When it was first announced last year, the game quickly drew attention in Japan and overseas for its unusual concept. It was covered in articles in more than 10 countries, including by the major gaming and esports outlet Dexerto, and generated a global response as a “crazy Japanese live-action game.” In Japan, it was also featured on Noda Kuri no Yabou on Tokyo MX.

Steam Next Fest Participation Confirmed for June 2026

Ahead of the full release in July 2026, Hamukoi will take part in Steam Next Fest, a limited-time event on the Steam store running from June 16 through June 23, Japan time. A demo allowing players to experience part of the game is planned for the event. Detailed dates and distribution information will be announced in stages through the official Hamukoi X account and other channels.

Development Team

The photo weekly FRIDAY and Kodansha Game Lab have teamed up for this unusual project. New and old departments within Kodansha worked across organizational boundaries in pursuit of a new form of game. The beautiful and sexy world of FRIDAY, stepping beyond the pages of a print magazine, can be enjoyed in beautiful 4K video.

Lead writer Ken Shimomura has worked on hit titles including Chain Chronicle and Onmyoji. The game also includes puzzle-solving elements in its full-fledged story.
