The cover of 22-year-old standout Mao Takano’s debut photobook Mao no Koto, is unveiled
The cover image has been released. It was photographed on a beach gently lit by the setting sun. Wrapped in a pure white bikini, her direct gaze into the camera makes a striking impression. It is an image that distills her appeal, capturing both her unadorned purity and the quietly compelling presence she possesses.
Since its announcement, the book has quickly entered the upper ranks of photobook rankings at online bookstores, and tickets for its handover event sold out immediately, drawing an enthusiastic response. Bold expressions that she had held back in previous shoots have also become a topic of conversation. T-back shots that freely reveal the hip line she refined for the shoot, lingerie shots that seem to wear seduction itself, and nude-toned shots that close in on an unadorned silhouette stripped of everything extra. Cuts found only in this photobook are scattered throughout its pages, making it a masterpiece that concentrates Mao Takano as she is now.
The July 16 issue of FRIDAY will feature five pages of previously unpublished cuts from the debut photobook. Two outfits being shown for the first time will also be revealed. Do not miss it.
Comment from Mao Takano
I have decided to release my first photobook! Being able to make a photobook, which has always been a dream of mine, into reality like this is thanks to everyone who always supports me. Thank you so much.
At the shoot location, amid the vast natural landscape and exotic streets of Mui Ne, Vietnam, I packed in plenty of who I am now. It has become a special work that captures even the atmosphere of the location in its photographs, from the beautiful sunrise to the evening scenery.
Because it is my first photobook, I think it has become a book where people can feel all kinds of Mao Takano: natural Mao, more grown-up Mao, and cute Mao. There are many cuts I love as well, so I would be happy if you would pick it up.
Find the Mao you like best, just for you! Thank you for your support!
