About the Work

A former high school baseball player has lost sight of his dreams and goals and lives stagnant days. Once a catcher expected to have a future, he gave up baseball after a certain event and has been unable to move forward.

Then a letter arrives for him. The sender is “God.”

“You will die in one week.”

Words that should be impossible to believe gradually become real as the remaining time ticks down day by day. Seven days remain. He decides to confront the life he had been unable to face: his mentor, his family, a former close friend, a boy he encounters by chance, and the woman to whom he could not convey his feelings.

What do people choose, and what do they leave behind, in limited time? This is a seven-day story of searching for a final answer in a life full of regrets.

Comments from the Leads

Daichi Shiratori (as Haru)

“Every human life will someday come to an end. If you knew how many days remained until that end, what would you do? The time I spent as Haru made me confront how fragile and precious the things we take for granted are. The past he had run from and the people he had been unable to face. Even so, I played him while seeing something of myself in his attempt to take a step forward. This work is filled with the meaning of what it is to live properly. I would be happy if it gives viewers an opportunity to think again about the people and time that matter to them.”

Ayu Shimotani (as Tsumugi)

“It was my first time acting, and I was extremely nervous, but the atmosphere on set was so warm that I was able to have fun becoming Tsumugi. Shiratori, who played Haru, brought out so much of Tsumugi’s good side that I wanted to see even more scenes between Haru and Tsumugi. Tsumugi had so many wonderful lines that I acted while telling them to myself.”

About the Ending Theme

The ending theme is “day To day” by Yuichi Komatsu, a singer-songwriter from Chiba.

After making his major-label debut following a grand prix win in a national competition, he has worked across a broad range of fields, including movie theme songs and radio. He has earned support for his delicate singing voice and expressiveness, and also demonstrates his talent as a vocal trainer and producer.

“day To day” is a song that confronts the questions, “What is ordinary? What is normal?” and deeply resonates with the theme of this work. The song’s music video was also directed by Koji Torikai.

Future Developments

Following the broadcast, a DVD collecting all five episodes will be released. A screening event with the lead cast is also planned. Further information will be announced as it becomes available on the program website and X (formerly Twitter).
