Eko Noguchi (野口絵子) Digital Photobook BEYOND THE PEAK Released July 30

Bungeishunju will release Eko Noguchi’s digital photobook Digital Genshoku Bijozukan: Eko Noguchi BEYOND THE PEAK, photographed by Anju, on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

The shoot took place at Lake Saiko, with a view of Mount Fuji, and in the surrounding area. Noguchi, dressed in a gown, was photographed amid the great outdoors: on the lakeshore, deep in the forest and against rock faces. Raised as the eldest daughter of mountaineer Ken Noguchi, she climbed the Yatsugatake Mountains in winter at age nine, the Himalayas at 14 and Mount Kilimanjaro at 15. She won both the 58th Miss Nippon Grand Prix and the Sea Day award in 2026, and is also a university student studying at Keio University SFC.

Each image holds intelligence, wildness and beauty. Here is a reality that can only be captured now, of a woman who says, “The mountains made me.”

Comment from Eko Noguchi

I took part in the shoot wearing a gown on the shore of Lake Saiko, with Mount Fuji in view. The mountains are always where I belong, but this time there is a different side of me there. In the dignified natural setting, I feel that expressions I had never seen in myself were drawn out. I packed the Eko Noguchi people have not yet come to know into this one volume. I hope you will pick it up.

Profile

Eko Noguchi was born February 21, 2004, in Tokyo. She is the eldest daughter of mountaineer Ken Noguchi. She made her debut in the Yatsugatake Mountains in winter at age nine, climbed the Himalayas at 14 and summited Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) at 15. After attending boarding schools in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, she is now enrolled at Keio University SFC. She is also active as an environmental activist and won both the 58th Miss Nippon Grand Prix and the Sea Day award in 2026.
