The accompanying interview finds Toyoshima reconsidering a season she had not especially enjoyed before. She talks about trying surfing for the first time and deciding that “maybe life is better if I enjoy it,” as well as how she feels about increasingly being told that she seems more grown-up.
For the special edition, photographer Yasushi Nishimura shot Hanon Mayu and Suzume around the theme “Youthful Summer Colors: Photo Camp!!” The two INUWASI members have become close since beginning gravure work together, including trips to hot springs and overseas. Their joint interview centers on that friendship: they describe themselves as “two people who each have things the other doesn’t” and say, “We want to keep doing all kinds of things together.”
The issue also includes Nao Furuhata, marking her 15th anniversary since debut; Nanako Kurosaki in her first gravure feature in two and a half years; Tsubasa Hazuki; Kano Komori; cosplayer Rosiel Kasyou; and Misao Ueda. Furuhata appears on the regular edition’s back cover, while Kurosaki takes the special edition’s back cover.
