Maiyu Kurihara’s Digital Photobook Moves From Color to Monochrome
Wani Books’ August 12 release divides its styling between bright looks and black outfits, with photography by Takao Karaki.
The first half uses colorful styling and a brighter presentation. The second switches to outfits unified in black, giving Kurihara a cooler, more mature mood.
Kurihara described that contrast as the central idea of the book.
“I’m very happy to be able to release a digital photobook. I think this book will let people see a slightly more mature side of me that I rarely show. It packs together many expressions and moods: cool Mayu in monochrome, and a colorful Mayu with a more grown-up cuteness.
“There are also many expressions that are a little different from usual, so I would be happy if they made your heart skip a beat. Please find your favorite photograph and send me plenty of your thoughts.”
Kurihara was born on June 24, 2001, in Tochigi Prefecture and is 154 cm tall.
