Animal-ear headbands and fluffy textures set the theme for Luna Ichinose’s cover and opening gravure in Young Animal No. 20. Photographed by Takanori Fujishiro, the feature moves from the cover’s multicolored swimsuit to white animal-themed styling and a pink bunny-ear outfit.

Hakusensha released the issue on October 9, 2026. A double-sided clear file featuring Ichinose accompanies the magazine.

Nanako Kurosaki’s first appearance

Nanako Kurosaki makes her Young Animal debut in the closing gravure feature, photographed by U-YA. The supplied preview shows her in a yellow-and-purple patterned bikini against leafy greenery, with her name and the photography credit retained in the page layout.

Ichinose’s preview takes a different approach: two indoor photographs pair white fluffy clothing and an animal-ear headband at a wooden table with pink bunny-ear styling beside a window.

Manga adaptations inside the issue

The issue announces an April 2027 television anime for Kashiko Amane’s Hokago no Idol ni wa Himitsu ga Aru. To mark the adaptation, it includes a celebratory comment from Amane and a special reprint of the manga’s first chapter. Volume 10 follows on October 29, 2026.

Jirai Glico, drawn by Akira Akatsuki from Yugo Aosaki’s novel, appears in the opening color manga pages. Hakusensha says a streaming drama adaptation of the original novel will arrive exclusively worldwide on Prime Video on November 13, 2026. The manga’s fifth volume is scheduled for October 29.

A color feature also accompanies Now That We Draw, known in Japan as Kakunaru Ue wa, by writer Kyu Takahata and artist Yuwji Kaba. Its television anime is scheduled to begin in January 2027; volume 8 was released on September 29, 2026.

All three manga volumes belong to the Young Animal Comics imprint and are listed at ¥759 each, including tax.
