X-Rite has positioned eXact 2 Basic as the streamlined member of its portable eXact 2 spectrodensitometer range. The instrument concentrates on the density and color-value measurements needed in commercial printing, while retaining the series platform and an interface designed for operators with limited color-measurement experience.
eXact 2 Basic succeeds eXact Basic and eXact Basic Spectro. It measures density as well as CIELAB and ΔE color values, with a high-resolution camera providing an on-screen view of the measurement position. A large touchscreen and simplified menus are intended to reduce the training required when a print site introduces a color-measurement instrument or standardizes its workflow.
