Tozuka plays Makoto Saito, a surgeon at Tokyo’s Research Medical Center and Nao’s former medical-school classmate. Nakagawa appears as Kaito Sakaki, a resident at Shiomisaki Municipal Hospital whose direct manner can unsettle those around him.

The newly announced cast joins earlier additions including Tatsunari Kimura as Nao’s brother Ryosuke and Yu Miyazaki as Eri, alongside Toru Nakamura, Mieko Harada, Katsumi Takahashi, Keiko Takeshita, Yasuko Tomita and Shima Ise. Noriko Yoshida writes the drama and Takehiko Shinjo directs.
