Kumiko Takeda will release a photobook from Kodansha on Wednesday, September 9, her first in 23 years.

The gravure legend who took the world by storm in a seashell bikini, and who now draws support from women as a beauty icon, is finally making a full-fledged return. Against the spectacular scenery of a tropical destination, she generously displays her exceptional figure. The book offers a full look at this new side of her, while also including homage shots that evoke her past blockbuster photobooks. It is a must-see not only for longtime fans, but also for a new generation who discovered her on social media.

“Even as we grow older, if we keep working hard, we can continue to be beautiful.”

Do not miss the energetic, glamorous, and finest sensuality that only Kumiko Takeda of today, transcending time, could embody.

In the June 25 issue of FRIDAY, on sale today, she appears on the cover and in a 10-page opening feature. It includes advance cuts from the photobook.

Comment from Kumiko Takeda

I have been given the opportunity to release a photobook through Kodansha for the first time in 23 years. A long time has passed, but I myself feel that I am now at my peak as a woman! For many years, fans have told me, “I want you to release another photobook.” I am truly delighted that I can finally respond to those wishes. I think fans will also enjoy looking for and comparing which shots are homages to my earlier photobooks.
